What
guides us
Our approach is integrative, psychedelic-assisted, and salutogenic.
We weave together science-based, trauma-informed modalities with the wisdom of plant medicine traditions. Through contemplative, somatic, creative and expressive practices, we engage with non-ordinary states of consciousness as part of a deeper process of inquiry and reconnection; to self, others and the world.
Healing happens in relationship. The mycelial networks beneath us remind us that we exist in connection – that resilience grows through community, and transformation is never isolated. Psychedelic care does not begin and end with the experience itself. It lives in how we integrate, how we listen, and how we contribute to a more just and regenerative society.
We are always learning in this ever evolving field – from research, from experience, and from the medicines themselves. We welcome change, expansion and the ongoing work of deepening our understanding of life; recognizing the call for new ways of relating – ways that honor interconnection, justice, and the wisdom of the earth. Kiyumí is a space to explore how we meet that call with integrity, compassion, presence, and creative action.

How we started
Founded in 2019 by Amit Elan, a somatic and psychedelic practitioner, dancer, and visual artist. Seeking relief from autoimmune diseases and substance-related struggles, Amit found profound healing through plant medicine, the work of Gabor Maté amongst others. This led to a deep commitment to healing, service, and co-creating authentic and vulnerable spaces where others could embark on their own journeys of self-inquiry and transformation.
Identifying as queer and a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, Kiyumi was envisioned as a space where healing could unfold in ways that honor the diversity of the human experience.
Kiyumí is a collaborative effort shaped by many humans who’ve contributed to this shared vision and continue to help it grow.

Kiyumi means existence
The word Kiyumí is Hebrew for “existence.” It is related to the word for “cosmos,” Yekum, also meaning to rise and awaken. This speaks to the essence of being alive and in living relationship with the universe.
The body, breath, and deep inquiry bring us back to the immediacy of existence, not as something to achieve, but as something already here and has always been. Beyond the limitations of the mind, at home within ourselves and in connection with our truest essence.
We honor the depth and complexity of being human. Through our approach, we create space to meet ourselves and one another with presence, curiosity, and care.
For us, this work is an invitation to being.
A glimpse into
a Kiyumi experience
A glimpse into the inner worlds and shared journeys that unfold through Kiyumi’s psilocybin-assisted programs. Rooted in deep care, tradition, and trauma-informed practice – stories of vulnerability and remembrance of what it means to be human.
OUR TOOLS
Dive deeper into our support
One-on-one
sharing sessions.
Our specialized facilitators create a safe, supportive space for open conversation and reflection, preparing you before the retreat, continuing throughout, and extending into post-retreat integration. Our work is rooted in psychotherapeutic practices such as Hakomi, SE, and ACT, Gestalt, and Compassionate Inquiry, ensuring you feel truly heard, supported, and grounded as you navigate each layer of your journey.
Group sharing
containers.
Group work offers a unique space to connect, reflect, and grow alongside others. It can be a rewarding and healing process, deepening our understanding of relatinal patterns and shared community. Through our integration program, workshops, and sharing circles, we create a compassionate space where we support each other in meaningful ways, cultivating a sense of belonging and helping one another thrive.
Listening
to the body.
The body is the bridge to our experience. Through somatic practices, we deepen our connection to the body, cultivating awareness and resilience. We offer tools for nervous system regulation, helping you ground and reconnect. Our workshops and nourishing plant-based meals are designed to support embodiment, complimenting the psilocybin journey with presence and care.
Creating bridges into the mystical experience, ritual and ceremony.
In workshops and the journey, we explore spirituality, the unknown, and personal rituals with curiosity and gratitude. These practices deepen awareness, connect us to subtle experiences, and bridge the psychedelic and daily states.
Dance, movement,
voice workshops.
Freeing our expression through dance and movement can reconnect us with joy, and authenticity, allow deep emotional releases and help us discover modes of knowing that are beyond language.
Sound.
The language of the soul.
Music is said to be the language of the soul and is used in many traditions to guide the self through different states of consciousness. Each Kiyumí psychedelic journey is held and navigated with carefully curated soundscapes, both acoustic and digital, through which we create an attuned and nurturing environment.
Nature connection &
contemplative practices.
Honoring indigenous values and deep ecology, we explore our connection to the Earth, learning to listen, feel, and commune in new ways that realign us with nature’s rhythms. Through contemplative practices such as mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and storytelling, along with nature immersions, we deepen our awareness of both the inner and outer worlds, supporting the simple yet profound act of being.

OUR VALUES
What shapes our Work
Togetherness
One of the greatest gifts we can give each other is the gift of presence: the mere act of being together and sharing the raw human experience as it unfolds in the moment. Inspired by the mycelium and by all things natural, interconnectedness is what weaves together the different elements of a Kiyumí experience. We also believe that cultivating an authentic sense of inner and relational belonging can help us overcome our fears, grow in awareness and allow us to nurture ourselves and others.
Vulnerability
We aim to create a safe container where the full spectrum of emotional expression can be felt and potentially shared. Being in a space where one can be real, tender and transparent, has the potential to radically shift inner repressive shame patterns. We seek to normalize vulnerability and celebrate these acts of authentic expression through sharing, being seen, heard, and witnessing each other.
Equity
We work towards accessibility and inclusivity, recognizing that certain communities have been historically underrepresented in the psychedelic field. From Kiyumí’s inception, we have taken active steps to have a diverse team and participant composition. We welcome members of the LGBTQI+ and other underrepresented communities. Our Equity Scholarship Program is aimed to serve people from these communities who would otherwise not be able to afford participating in our programs.
Community
Through remembering community, we hear the call to be a part of creating new ways of organizing in a way that sustains life. Facing the harsh reality of a society that is based on individualism, competition and separation, Kiyumí sees itself as an incubator that nurtures a compassionate community of individuals. We openly aspire to innovate and learn, as well as collaborate with other intentional communities, exploring different group dynamics as to refine the tools that could help us sculpt brighter futures.
Beyond-Norms
Many of our staff and participants identify as queer or move beyond societal conventions; challenging norms in how we live, love, and express ourselves. We honour fluidity and self-defined identity, welcoming those who carve their own paths. At Kiyumi, authenticity is an act of resistance and imagination. We embrace difference, celebrate uniqueness, and create space for magic, tenderness, and transformation to unfold.
Activism
We believe care and responsibility are inherent to human nature. Alongside personal growth, we invite participants to embrace care for the planet. Many Kiyumí facilitators are students of indigenous traditions like Huni Kuin, Yawanawa, Shipibo, and Lakota, guardians of plant medicine wisdom. With respect for these cultures, we are developing collaborative projects to build sustainable, fair relationships with their communities.
Celebration
Kiyumí recognizes joy as a resource for uplifting, vitalising and re-awakening life force in us. Our approach recognizes the recreational as a valid and valuable field when safely practiced from which we can be nourished by in the psychedelic experience and in life. Sharing spaces of celebration where pleasure is allowed, enhances bonding and synchronization between members of our groups and creates a sustainable context to deepen our healing work.
Play
Alongside the depth and care we invest in each Kiyumí experience, we also want to make sure not to take ourselves too seriously. We love to be spontaneous, connect to our inner child and, while in reverence, still be able to hear the cosmic giggle. Moments of play allow us to soften and suspend fixed judgments and categories of identity. A state of play helps alleviate our amassed heaviness, becoming more flexible and rewiring our creative and relational pathways.
Curiosity
When exploring psychedelic and other non-ordinary states of being, we are being asked to open our hearts and minds to the mystery and to dare to explore the unknown. Rather than treating what is different as foreign or threatening, Kiyumí welcomes the unfamiliar with compassion. We promote an environment where we can cultivate a beginner’s mind, see the world with a fresh open gaze and agree to not know.
Creativity
We believe that every human is naturally an artist, our lives a work of art. Creativity is an essential quality as we process and integrate a non-ordinary experience, find means to express our visions, reach the deeper symbolism and the keys to understand our dreams and the delicate language of our soul.
Healing
Healing is becoming whole again. Rather than ‘fixing a problem’, Kiyumí views healing as an ongoing process of opening our hearts and integrating different parts within and outside of us. Healing can be an opportunity for growth and expansion and for opening the path for reconciliation with our ancestors and with the collective consciousness of our time.
Possibility
We strive to live beyond healing and survival, embracing empowerment, authenticity, and possibility. By rekindling childlike wonder while staying adaptable, we aim to be agents of change, unlocking transformation and growth in ourselves and the world. As the Buddha said, “There is a universal potential in all of us.”
